The Rundown
We’ll compile better info as we get it, but here is a quick “history”:
The love of miniature camera (no matter the quality of the picture) started for many with seeing those cool gadgets in the hit spy movies of the 60s, 70s, and 80s. One of the first cameras people took notice of was one produced during the war … the Minox.
With the Minox’s appearance in James Bond and other spy movies, it quickly became the epitome of the “spy” scene. being small, it was the representation of the days photography convenience. The idea of a small mini camera quickly made it to cheaper, plastic versions. Those ended up on keychains, in gumball machines, etc. Even the cheap ones actually took pictures you could get developed, and sometimes made their way into amateur spy kits.
Well, after the age of digital photography went through it’s “way too expensive for anyone to afford it” phase, it has now come down to everyone’s level. Even the keychain or spy camera enthusiast.
There are many distributors, but the main manufacturer I find to be Sakar Digital Concepts … Click Here to go to their site. The make cameras as accessories for many manufacturers.
That’s it for now …. more as we compile it.
