The New Market Square

Market Square After Renovations

The new Market Square area in Downtown Pittsburgh is a sight for sore eyes after the major renovation of the area.  It looks much better and cleaner (although I know many would have preferred more green space between the buildings.

Nothin Happened Here In 1897

Truth In Marketing

I LOVE truth in marketing.

Basically any plaque, historical or not, is used for some level of marketing. This one stating that nothing happened in this spot in 1897 is one of the few and rare examples of truth in marketing.

Quaint park neat Heinz Hall in the Cultural District

The Cultural district isn’t just for dining and shows … it’s a great place to de-stress during you daily lunch hour! :-)

Big Dog Coffee SouthSide Pittsburgh

Big Dog isn’t your typical cool looking coffee place in the city.  It’s more like the city house your close friend remodeled with nice comfy easy chairs in it.

Fifth Avenue Place

Fifth Avenue Shoppes

One of the more stylish places to shop and get some eats in the city.  Fifth Avenue Place was a great visual addition to the city when it was completed, and still is today.

Convention Center in The Strip

This is one of the places not that many people go to look on the convention center.  It always reminded me of one of the buildings in the old Hawaii 5-0 TV series.

Contemporary Craft in the Strip District

CC in the Strip is one of the cooler places to check out amazing crafts like fiber arts and the such.  The Strip isn’t just for food … feed your brain too!

17th Street Grille

17th Street Grille in the Cultural District

Along with being conveniently placed near most of the goings on in the cultural district downtown, 17th is one of the better placed to fill the void in your stomach.

Kwik E Mart

Kwik E Mart

Since The Simpsons became and American institution – every city needs a Kwik-E-Mart.

Nicholas Coffee in Market Square

Nicholas Coffee is another one of those “Pittsburgh Places” that’s always been there.  Coffee, fresh roasted peanuts, and tea – can’t be beat.
